Food updates
Rather than complaining about my boring life and the recent troubles I've been getting into, let's do something sort-of cheerful. But it may be depressing for people in the army cos it's going to take awhile before they can go on a food trip again. Oh well. I feel abit happier knowing I made someone's life a little more miserable. I'm a born sadist. Thank you thank you *bows*
So last last Friday Parrot and I visited Holland (village), and ate chicken noodles from one of my childhood haunts. I been there since it was old and dirty, slightly new looking, and now, total revamp. But the food is still good. Something very very rare nowadays in Singapore. But of course, the price went up. Waaaaay up.

And last Tuesday, we went Orchard, ate some pasta at PastaCafe, Takashimaya. The food wasn't bad. Just... bland, as bland as the restaurant's name I mean, how can you make pasta taste bad? And we had Aglio Olio and Carbonara the default cannot-go-wrong pastas. But yea, bland. Even the spicy Aglio Olio. But at least the appetizer was good. Yummy~

Yummy appetizer (toasted garlic bread with tomato on top, Fried chicken cutlet, Fried Calamari and super yummy potato salad) and a passer-by staring after doing an indecent pose...

My Aglio Olio. I don't mind if it looks boring, but the spicy sauce can't even save this dish

Very greasy looking Carbonara. Loads of cheese but no kick

Saw this on the bus while going home. Exploding heads!
Yesterday we went to eat some decent chinese at Soup Kitchen. At least I thought it was suppose to be decent... The famed Samsui chicken was alright, just a tad tinier, but when it came to the Beggar Bowl Tofu, I was damn disappointed. What happened to the starchy sauce and crispy tofu skin? And the bill was a leeettle shocking. I rather pay this much to eat something Japanese. Maybe it's ingrained in me that food I am suppose to know how to cook shouldn't cost alot. Blame my mom.
